As part of their ground-breaking “Safe Driving Stars” programme, Dubai Police recently recognised 22 police officers for having a perfect record—no accidents or moving infractions for three years—under the patronage of Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri.
Key Achievements:
40% reduction in traffic accidents involving police vehicles.
Average emergency response time fell to approximately 2.5 minutes.
The initiative resulted in savings of Dh24 million in government expenditure dollars.
More than 100 individuals, including civilians and injured personnel, are being recognized across three categories.
Leadership Viewpoint: The programme, which Assistant Commander-in-Chief Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly has described as essential to fostering a culture of responsible driving, aims to inform and encourage adherence to traffic regulations.
Colonel Samira Abdullah Al Ali noted the program’s role in preserving police assets, supporting faster response times, and enhancing road safety.
Strategic Impact:
This marks the first-ever campaign of its kind within Dubai Police, aimed at reinforcing safety-first behavior among patrol drivers.
The collaboration with private sector partners—like Genesis–UAE Juma Al Majid—underscores the shared commitment to safety in line with Dubai’s traffic-safety strategy.
The program aligns with wider UAE efforts to achieve “Zero Fatalities”, boost public trust, and optimize emergency operations .
Why It Matters: The programme promotes a proactive, preventive approach to road safety by rewarding performance rather than penalising mistakes.
Safer driving improves service effectiveness and police preparedness while saving lives, money, and public trust.
It sets a powerful precedent for civic pride, accountability, and cross-sector collaboration—helping to further cement Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in traffic safety.
Through the Safe Driving Stars initiative, Dubai Police are not just honoring safe conduct—they’re building a sustainable culture of responsibility and excellence across the force and the wider community.
