With a plethora of interesting events and activities planned throughout Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE citizens are in for a treat as the long holiday weekend finally arrives. There is plenty for everyone to enjoy in the summer sun—or even under the stars—whether you’re searching for family-friendly entertainment, cultural activities, or outdoor excursions.

Swimming at night has grown in popularity in Dubai as a way to beat the heat. Visit the beaches at Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, or Umm Suqeim 1, where recently placed smart poles illuminate the coastline, enabling locals and visitors to take a refreshing, safe plunge after dusk. Lifeguards are still on duty to make sure everyone is safe.

In the meantime, the Dubai Summer Surprises celebration is well underway, with incredible bargains, mall performances, and daily prise draws that enhance the thrill of shopping. On July 1, Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi will open its eagerly awaited extension, which will include 20 new attractions, including an exhilarating tube slide and a kid-friendly tornado coaster.

The Cultural Treasures Trail, a summer programme that combines museum visits, creative workshops, and outdoor pursuits like kayaking in the Jubail Mangrove Park, is another option for families visiting the city. Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld are also celebrating the holiday with spectacular performances and immersive experiences for those who choose to stay in the city.
