On Friday, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Maule, Chile, as reported by the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 100 km (62.14 miles) beneath the surface, according to the EMSC’s findings.
Residents in Santiago, the capital of Chile, felt the tremors, describing the experience as noticeable “shaking.” Local media further mentioned that trees and household items swayed during the quake. Thankfully, there were no reports of damage or injuries following the incident.
