The UAE Cyber Security Council has identified five signs of cyberbullying in children

The UAE Cyber Security Council has released important guidelines to assist parents and caregivers in recognizing signs of cyberbullying in children. In response to rising concerns about online safety. To raise awareness and tackle this widespread issue, the Council identified five key indicators that a child might be experiencing cyberbullying. These signs include noticeable changes in behavior, social withdrawal, a sudden drop in academic performance, heightened anxiety or fear when using electronic devices, and unexplained physical symptoms such as headaches or stomachaches, which may arise from the emotional strain of online harassment.

Alongside these critical signs, the UAE Cyber Security Council has initiated a nationwide awareness campaign designed to educate both children and parents about the risks of cyberbullying and the measures they can take to protect themselves online. This initiative highlights the government’s dedication to ensuring the mental well-being of young people in the digital era, where online threats are becoming more common.

The awareness campaign emphasizes providing resources for both prevention and intervention, encouraging families to maintain open lines of communication and report any suspicious online activities. By empowering the community with the knowledge to identify and address cyberbullying, the UAE seeks to create a safer online space for children, allowing them to enjoy the advantages of technology without the fear of harassment or exploitation.

This campaign is part of broader efforts to enhance digital literacy and cybersecurity throughout the nation, as the UAE remains focused on protecting its youth in an increasingly connected world. As part of this initiative, schools and educational institutions are also involved.
