As 2025 approaches, UAE residents are splurging on luxury stays to secure the best views of Dubai’s famous New Year fireworks. Premium hotels and serviced apartments near Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah are hot spots for these celebrations, with prices reaching up to Dh11,000 for a three-night stay.
Rising Prices for Prime Locations
Upscale hotels in Downtown Dubai require a minimum three-night booking from December 29 to January 1. For instance, a one-bedroom apartment costs Dh10,434 without breakfast or Dh11,304 with breakfast.
Nearby, the JW Marriott Marquis offers a deluxe twin room for Dh2,558 per night (plus Dh615 in taxes) for a two-night stay. The proximity to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall makes these locations ideal for those enjoying the city’s grand fireworks.
Making New Year Memorable
For many, ringing in the new year at a luxury hotel with a clear view of the fireworks has become a cherished tradition. Aiham Joratli, a resident of Al Ain, plans to celebrate with his wife at either JW Marriott or Movenpick in Downtown Dubai. “We’re looking forward to the Burj Khalifa fireworks, a lively party, and a buffet. It’s time to break the routine and create new memories,” he shared.
Similarly, Kazakh expat Madina Mergenova is staying at the Radisson Beach Resort on Palm Jumeirah, enjoying the Atlantis fireworks. “In the future, I’d love to stay near Burj Khalifa for its breathtaking display. This year, Radisson’s one-night option without restrictions and their terrace gala dinner was perfect for us,” she explained.
Avoiding the Crowds
Many families are opting for premium stays to avoid the stress of navigating crowded streets. Indian expat Bhavya Rao, who lives in Springs, shared how Downtown’s cordoned-off areas make it difficult with young kids. “This year, we booked a serviced apartment in Business Bay for Dh6,000 for three nights. It’s a splurge but worth it. My six-year-old is thrilled for her first Downtown stay during New Year.”
Demand Boosts Rates for Holiday Homes
The New Year rush isn’t just benefiting hotels. Holiday home rentals are also seeing skyrocketing demand. Vinayak Mahtani, CEO of bnbme holiday homes, revealed that New Year rates are 2 to 2.5 times higher than summer prices. “Luxury stays with views of the Burj Khalifa are the most sought-after. Last year, we hit 99% occupancy during this period,” he said.
Anthony Joseph Abou Jaoude, CEO of Primestay, added, “Dubai’s growing appeal as a luxury travel destination has families and groups favoring spacious villas and apartments over hotel rooms, pushing up demand for premium holiday homes.”
