Here’s What to Do

Whether you’re taking the Dubai Metro, the Dubai Tram, or even hopping on a waterbus, the Nol card lets you pay seamlessly. Here’s everything you need to know about Nol cards in Dubai.

Types of Nol Cards

There are four main types of Nol cards, each serving a specific purpose.

Silver Card

The Silver Nol card is the most popular choice. It’s valid across all RTA public transport services, making it great for frequent travelers.

Gold Card

The Gold Nol card gives access to the exclusive “Gold Class Cabin” on the Metro and Tram. It costs twice the regular fare and is ideal for a premium travel experience.

Red Ticket

Perfect for occasional users, this disposable ticket works only on the Metro and Tram for a limited time.

Personal Card (Blue Card)

The Blue Nol card is personalized and linked to the Emirates ID. It offers a 50% discount on fares for eligible residents. You can also block it or top it up online.

How to Get a Nol Card

You can buy a Nol card either online or in person.

Online (for Samsung or Huawei users):

  1. Download the Nol Pay app.
  2. Log in using UAE Pass.

Buy a virtual Nol card and pay through the app.

In Person

Visit any Metro station ticket office or use a ticket vending machine to purchase your card.

Topping Up Your Nol Card

You can top up your Nol card at several places:

  1. Metro Stations: Use kiosks or visit the ticket office.
  2. RTA Apps: Recharge via Nol Pay, RTA, or S’hail apps.
  3. Dubai Now App: This RTA partner app also supports recharges.
  4. RTA Website: Top up easily through the official website.
  5. Solar-Powered Machines: Found at some bus stops, these machines let you recharge on the go.

Minimum Balance and Top-Up Amount

  • The minimum balance required on any Nol card is AED 7.5.
  • The minimum top-up varies:
    • AED 50 at Metro station counters.
    • AED 5 for online or kiosk top-ups.

Using Your Nol Card for More Than Transport

Did you know your Nol card isn’t just for public transport? You can also use it for:

  • Paying for groceries at select supermarkets.
  • Buying food at certain restaurants.

However, the card is limited to payments under AED 200.

Personalizing and Digitizing Your Nol Card

Personalizing Your Nol Card:

  • You can personalize your Silver or Gold Nol card for AED 30. This links it to your Emirates ID, giving access to extra benefits.
  • Complete the process online via the RTA website or Nol Plus app.

Digitizing Your Nol Card:

Available only for Samsung phones. Use the Nol Pay app to digitize your card by scanning it on your phone.

Lost Your Nol Card? Here’s What to Do

If your Nol card is registered, reporting it is simple.

  • At Metro Stations: Inform the ticket office immediately to block the card and request a refund.
  • Online Reporting: Use the Nol Pay app or RTA website. You’ll need:
    1. Nol tag ID and mobile number.
    2. PIN code of the card.
    3. Preferred refund method (cash or Nol balance).

For lost Blue Nol cards, contact RTA for more assistance.
