Saudi Arabia is issuing up to 6,000 work visas each day for Bangladeshi workers

Saudi Arabia is currently issuing between 4,000 and 6,000 work visas daily to Bangladeshi workers, indicating a notable increase in labor demand as the Kingdom pushes forward with its Vision 2030 development plans. This extensive recruitment effort highlights the strengthening economic relationship between the two countries and addresses Saudi Arabia’s requirement for skilled and semi-skilled labor across various sectors.

The rapid growth in infrastructure, construction, and service industries as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy has led to a significant need for foreign workers. Officials have emphasized the vital contributions of Bangladeshi workers in these ambitious projects, particularly in construction, maintenance, and hospitality roles.

The government of Bangladesh has expressed its appreciation for the expanded opportunities for its citizens, pointing out that labor migration bolsters the country’s remittance economy. In 2023, remittances from Bangladeshi workers in Saudi Arabia represented a considerable share of the nation’s foreign income. Saudi authorities have committed to facilitating work visas to ensure a smooth recruitment process while upholding worker welfare standards.

This increasing labor exchange underscores the strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh, setting the stage for enhanced economic cooperation. As Vision 2030 advances, the Kingdom’s emphasis on infrastructure and innovation will likely continue to fuel the demand for a skilled global workforce.
