Tehran Shuts Off Highway Lights Due to Energy Crisis

admin
SHARE

Tehran has turned off the lights on major highways as part of efforts to tackle its escalating energy crisis. The Iranian government is also taking further steps, such as closing schools and public offices, to manage electricity consumption during this difficult time.

Officials attribute the crisis to a spike in energy demand caused by colder weather and limited fuel supplies. Turning off the highway lights is anticipated to greatly lower electricity usage, although it has sparked concerns regarding road safety, especially at night.

The government is encouraging residents to reduce energy consumption at home and to consider alternative heating methods when possible. Public awareness campaigns are being rolled out to highlight the significance of energy conservation during this ongoing crisis.

Even with these initiatives, the energy shortage continues to impact daily life throughout the country. Authorities are looking into long-term solutions, such as enhancing energy infrastructure and diversifying energy sources, to avert future crises.
