The Arab League (AL) has urged Arab education ministries to include the ‘Arab Reading Challenge’ as part of their school curriculum. This initiative, introduced by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, aims to promote the Arabic language and expand its reach among students.

The announcement was made by Ambassadress Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Department at the Arab League, during a celebration for World Arabic Language Day.

Abu Ghazaleh highlighted that the initiative is a groundbreaking cultural and educational project designed to strengthen the Arabic language. She also emphasized the importance of supporting similar programs to tackle challenges affecting cultural identity.

Additionally, she called for more research and innovation to enhance Arabic language education, underlining that Arabic serves as a key element of the Arab world’s heritage and identity.
