Saudi Arabia expressed its solidarity with Germany on Friday after a tragic car-ramming incident at a Christmas market resulted in fatalities and injuries.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a statement on social media platform X, saying the country stands with “the German people and the families of the victims.” The statement also emphasized Saudi Arabia’s firm stance against violence.

The horrific incident occurred on Friday evening when a driver crashed a vehicle into a large crowd at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany. The attack killed at least two people, including a young child, and left over 60 injured. The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, according to local authorities.

Magdeburg, located about 150 km (90 miles) west of Berlin, is the capital of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Reiner Haseloff, the state’s premier, confirmed the loss of the young child and expressed condolences to the affected families.
