A Dubai court has ruled in favor of a vehicle owner after a valet driver caused significant damage to a specially equipped car. The court ordered the defendants to pay a total of Dh85,000 in compensation, which includes both the car’s value and moral damages suffered by the owner.

The court’s decision includes Dh75,000 as reimbursement for the vehicle’s value, acknowledging the costly and specialized modifications required for the car. Additionally, Dh10,000 was awarded as moral damages, recognizing the distress and inconvenience caused to the owner.

The case highlights the responsibility of valet service providers to handle vehicles with care, especially those with special modifications. The judgment serves as a reminder for companies to ensure proper training and accountability for their drivers to avoid such incidents.

This ruling reinforces the rights of car owners in Dubai to seek compensation for damages caused by negligence. It also underlines the importance of maintaining comprehensive insurance and clear service agreements when entrusting vehicles to third parties.
