The incident occurred on March 29 this year, under the jurisdiction of Al Rafaa Police Station in Dubai. According to court records, the victims’ driver, also a Pakistani, collaborated with three accomplices and a fugitive to execute the crime after learning the victims were carrying a large amount of cash.

Crime Details

On the morning of March 29, the victims were being driven to Dubai’s Gold Souk when the driver informed the gang of their location. The gang followed them in a black Kia vehicle and stopped them near Al Mankhool. Two members of the group posed as police officers, forcing the victims into separate vehicles.

The victims were taken to Al Nahda, where the gang robbed them of Dh1 million, two mobile phones, and their wallets before letting them go. The victims quickly reported the crime to the police, sparking an investigation that led to the arrest of five individuals.

Court Proceedings

During the trial, the court examined confessions, witness statements, and police investigations. The evidence showed that the driver had informed the gang about the victims’ cash and movements. One accused was identified as the mastermind, while two others impersonated police officers to carry out the robbery.

The fifth accused, another Pakistani, was alleged to have conspired with the group but denied involvement. The court eventually found him not guilty due to insufficient evidence and corroboration from other accused individuals.

Verdict and Deportation

The Dubai Court sentenced the convicted men to two years in prison. After serving their sentence, they will be deported. The fifth accused was acquitted, and no further action was taken against him.
