The Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram will run nonstop for over 43 hours starting from December 31, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed on Tuesday. This move is designed to reduce traffic congestion during New Year’s Eve celebrations and make travel easier for everyone.

According to the RTA, the Dubai Metro will operate from 5am on December 31 until the end of January 1. The Dubai Tram will run from 6am on December 31 until 1am on January 2. Authorities are encouraging people to use public transport for a smoother and more convenient travel experience during the festive period.

To further support commuters, the RTA will provide 1,400 free buses across the city. These buses will be available to all travelers at no charge, making it easier to navigate the city during the busy celebrations.

Hussain Al Bana, Executive Director of Traffic at the RTA, stated that the extended Metro and Tram services, extra parking spaces, and free bus rides will give residents and visitors reliable transport options and help reduce traffic jams across Dubai.
