Ain Dubai, the tallest observation wheel in the world, has reopened after over two years of restoration. Hundreds of visitors flocked to the attraction on its soft launch day, with many praising the incredible views and unique experiences it offers.
A security guard on-site shared, “The soft opening was on December 25, and because it was Christmas, the mall was crowded. Many visitors noticed the wheel was open and booked tickets immediately. Even staff brought their families, making it very busy. We had hundreds, maybe even thousands, of visitors, and we expect more today.”
Back After Enhancements
The wheel had been closed since March 2022 for upgrades and has now resumed operations with ticket prices ranging from Dh145 to Dh1,260.
Located on Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai originally opened in 2021. Each ride lasts around 38 minutes and offers 360-degree views of Dubai’s skyline, including iconic landmarks like the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab.
A Memorable Experience
Emirati Ahmed Hani was among the first to ride the 250-meter-tall wheel. “It was my first time, and the views were beyond my expectations,” he said. “We caught the sunset, and it was breathtaking.
Most of the people I met were also first-timers. Some had been on it before, but many were new. You can even book a private pod for celebrations, and it’s decorated as per your request. That will be very popular among UAE residents.”
Visitors’ Lucky Timing
Indonesian influencer Vina Muliana, visiting her sister in Dubai, stumbled upon Ain Dubai’s reopening. “I’ve seen Ferris wheels in Singapore and London, but I wanted to ride Dubai’s because it’s the tallest,” she said. “I didn’t know it had just reopened. We came early and booked tickets. The view of Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab was amazing.”
Vina, who is spending two weeks in Dubai, also went skydiving during her trip. “I now know what it feels like to jump out of a plane,” she joked.
Last-Minute Thrill
Polish tourists Janusz and Iwona noticed the wheel moving from their hotel in Dubai Marina. “It wasn’t operating when we arrived, but last night we saw it moving and decided to try it,” said Janusz. The couple arrived early to secure tickets for one of the first rides of the day. “It was a great experience. We leave Dubai tomorrow and are so happy we got to ride it before leaving.”
