Why Raknah?

Raknah in Al Ain often sees colder temperatures due to its unique landscape. Dr. Ahmed Habib from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) previously explained that this area has special features like wadis, trees, and dunes. Even the sand in Raknah plays a role in creating these low temperatures.

“As air moves from higher to lower elevations, it cools down, which leads to a drop in temperature,” Dr. Habib shared.

Stay Prepared for Rain

Wondering if you need to carry an umbrella? The NCM earlier predicted rain from December 23 to December 28 due to an “extended low-pressure system moving in from the southeast, originating in the Arabian Sea.”

Winter According to the Gulf Calendar

In the Arabian Gulf’s traditional calendar, winter is divided into two phases: “Arba in Al Merei” and “Arba in Al Aqrabi”, each lasting 40 days. The first phase, “Arba in Al Merei,” begins around December 28 and is known for its colder temperatures and higher chances of rain.

Although winter typically brings more rainfall, the exact weather depends on current atmospheric conditions.
