Abu Dhabi Greenlights 385 Environmentally Responsible Projects in 2025

Since January 2025, Abu Dhabi has issued approvals for 385 projects that satisfy the Estidama Pearl Rating System’s demanding standards on sustainability. The Pearl Rating System comprehensively assesses these parameters – such as water-saving and energy-saving features as well as eco-friendly materials in buildings – for environmental sustainability purposes to contribute toward emirate targets.

One of the most notable initiatives under this is the Estidama Pearl Rating System. These are sustainable ratings for projects within Abu Dhabi. From residential buildings to commercial complexes, all the approved projects signify a reduction in environmental impact while enhancing quality of life. The initiatives thus match the vision for sustainable development within the UAE as well as ambitions for achieving net zero.

According to them, these measures would ensure a resilient and eco-friendly infrastructure of an urban city. The decision to approve those projects demonstrates a “commitment to fostering sustainability and encouraging innovative practices in the construction sector,” according to an official spokesperson.

As Abu Dhabi continues to focus on green building practices, the number of Estidama-compliant projects is expected to grow, driving the emirate closer to achieving its sustainability objectives while setting an example for cities worldwide.
