A new honey production facility in the UAE is to become one of the country’s biggest contributors to its growing agricultural and food industries. The factory, located in the central region of the emirate, has been approved by Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Sultan and is expected to produce 120 tonnes of honey annually in its first phase. The state-of-the-art facility aims to meet local demand and establish a strong foothold in the global honey market.

The new facility speaks about commitment towards increasing agricultural sector in the UAE and reliance on imports, as it also provides high-quality, locally produced honey. In that light, it falls under the broader initiative to boost sustainability and food security in the country. The factory will use the latest technology and local expertise for the production of the best honey, and expansion is under consideration for the future.

His highness Sheikh Sultan’s approval to this project goes in line with the development of the key sectors within the United Arab Emirates. This honey production plant, as such, will be among the most productive facilities in supporting local beekeeping ventures in addition to boosting employment and contributing to the rest of the agriculture economy.

The factory will, with phase one of the project already set for launch, be having a wide impact on the local economy and on the growing reputation of the UAE as a producer of premium agricultural products.
