UAE President Receives Afghan Interior Minister to Discuss Reconstruction and Stability

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received Afghanistan’s Interior Minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, to discuss joint efforts in supporting Afghanistan’s reconstruction and stability. The high-profile meeting, held in Abu Dhabi, underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering peace and progress in the region through diplomatic engagement.

Both leaders discussed avenues to strengthen the recovery of Afghanistan, emphasizing main sectors such as infrastructure development, humanitarian aid, and security enhancement. The UAE has been a traditional supporter of Afghanistan, having contributed significantly to allowing humanitarian assistance while aiding in the restoration of vital services.

It further pointed out that Afghanistan needs stability so that the sustainable development and prosperity of its people can be made possible. Sheikh Mohamed stated that the UAE will continue working together with its global and regional partners to provide war-torn nations with opportunities for economic growth and social cohesion.

This interaction exemplifies the active engagement of the UAE in peace and stability building across the region and cements it as a beacon of international cooperation. Both sides have expressed optimism that such future collaboration will lead to resilience and a brighter future in rebuilding Afghanistan’s infrastructure.
