A record number of over 97.3 million devotees have taken the holy dip at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers (Sangam) in the first 11 days of Maha Kumbh 2025 in this remarkable spiritual congregation. This festival, held once in 12 years, resonates deep into the culture and religion of people worldwide, who have been drawn in as pilgrims, saints, and seekers from all over the globe.

According to officials, this year’s Maha Kumbh may be the largest gathering in human history, with more than 450 million attending. Devotees have thronged Prayagraj to take the holy dip, which is believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual enlightenment.

The event has been well planned, with the government putting strong crowd management, security, sanitation, and medical aid arrangements in place. Almost 30,000 police and volunteers have been mobilized to ensure that the millions arriving daily experience a hassle-free event.

The Maha Kumbh is a living testimony of India’s spiritual heritage as thousands of devotees throng the area for its religious importance and cultural and historical vibrancy. With many more significant bathing dates lined up, the numbers will increase manifold in the coming weeks.
