Thunderstorms are forecasted to strike several areas in Saudi Arabia until Monday, forcing civil defense authorities to call on residents to exercise caution and safety. The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defence advised the public to take precautions, stay in safe places, and avoid areas prone to flooding, such as wadis.

The affected regions are expected to be Mecca, where moderate-to-heavy rainfall is expected to cause torrential rains, hail showers, and sand-laden winds. Similarly, the Riyadh region is expected to experience moderate-to-heavy rains, which may cause similar weather conditions. Other areas, including Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, the Northern Borders, Al Jawf, Hail, and parts of Medina, are also expected to experience rainy weather and possible fog.

The Saudi National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned people to comply with the official instructions and follow the updates via all kinds of media available. The NCM predicts strong sandstorms for the northern coast of the Red Sea, thus aggravating the situation.

This has encouraged the residents to stay within safety limits and avoid traveling unnecessarily, in addition to staying informed about weather developments, to maintain their safety and security.
