Kuwaiti authorities are investigating 24 cases of citizenship forgery linked to an elaborate fraud scheme involving 65 individuals. The suspects are accused of swindling KD4.4 million through fraudulent means, prompting a crackdown on illegal activities undermining national security and integrity.

The officials stated that the cases refer to individuals accused of having procured Kuwaiti citizenship using fabricated documents, where they received monetary benefits and all other benefits like the citizens. Investigations are on to ascertain how deep the fraud went and to nab more people linked to the fraud.

The Interior Ministry vowed to take drastic action against those involved, insisting that such a violation will not be tolerated. Authorities are trying to recover the embezzled funds and strengthen measures in preventing future citizenship fraud cases.

This high-profile case indicates Kuwait’s efforts to preserve the integrity of its legal and social institutions. As the case goes on, authorities remind everyone that resources should be protected and fraudsters brought to book.
