Saudi Arabia Begins Offering Weather Training Classes in Preparations for Ramadan and Hajj

Saudi Arabia is making ready for a rabid Ramadan and Hajj season by launching specialized weather training courses for workers at the two holiest mosques, Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina. The courses are aimed at equipping staff with more skills to handle extreme conditions that often accompany millions of pilgrims visiting for the time-honored religious practices during the significant events.

The training will focus on the safety and well-being of pilgrims, especially since temperatures can be very high in the region during the summer months. Workers will learn how to manage potential heat stress, maintain hydration levels, and provide assistance during adverse weather conditions to prevent health issues among visitors.

As Ramadan and Hajj attract a large number of people, the Saudi authorities are taking measures to ensure public safety and comfort. Crowd control measures are also part of the training since many people will be present at the mosques for prayers, and workers need to be prepared for any situation.

This programme is a major component of the Saudi Arabian overall approach towards enhancing pilgrims’ experience and ensuring that the religious seasons go well. Now that the country has a brisk year ahead, weather courses are a proactive measure toward protection of the pilgrims and the staff who help the pilgrims.
