A horrific incident occurred on a Sharjah highway when a driver discovered that their vehicle’s cruise control was stuck at 130km/h, leaving them unable to slow down. The critical situation occurred on the way to Al Dhaid, prompting an urgent response from Sharjah Police. Authorities acted swiftly to ensure the safety of both the driver and other road users.

Police patrols were sent to the scene as soon as the distress call was received. The patrol managed the traffic and avoided further accidents, assisting the driver until they were out of the critical situation. Instructing the driver on the crisis management at real-time while coordinating the emergency measures to safely stop the speeding vehicle saved them from a probable disaster due to their prompt response and experience.

This incident makes it clear that proper vehicle maintenance and knowledge of emergency procedures when cruise control fails are essential. Experts recommend keeping calm, manually trying to turn off the system, and then contacting the authorities if nothing else works. Car manufacturers also insist on regular checks to avoid electronic failures that can cause hazardous conditions on the roads.

Luckily, the incident was brought under control without causing any injuries or major accidents because of the quick intervention of Sharjah Police. The driver was helped safely and motorists were called upon to remain alert about the conditions of their vehicle to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
