Sister Nelly, renowned for her miracles among women inmates in South America, has also been decorated with the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity. Her long strenuous efforts for rehabilitation and sustainable support to thousands of South American women inmates have changed not only their lives but also paved way for numerous others to get a second chance at life.

Her work is meant to give them spiritual guidance and education, combined with practical skills, as these women are typically from marginalized sections of society. Sister Nelly’s approach of compassion and empowerment helps these women rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society when they are finally released. Therefore, the fact that her effort has been appreciated through the Zayed Award really speaks to a commitment to human dignity and social justice.

The UAE’s global Zayed Award for Human Fraternity has brought focus to Sister Nelly’s efforts, and therefore, her works in South America have been widely supported. Such international recognition does not only add a personal flavor to Sister Nelly’s contributions but also shine a light to similar projects throughout the world meant to uplift the most vulnerable of people.

These changes mean that new resources and a wave of public attention have increased Sister Nelly’s programs aimed at reaching thousands of female inmates awaiting guidance, among other necessities. The recognition surely gave fire to the wheels, propelling even more people towards further steps toward reform within prison systems in many parts of Africa.
