Liverpool took a massive step toward Premier League glory after a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth, with Mohamed Salah once again proving decisive. The Egyptian forward converted a controversial penalty in the first half after a disputed foul on Cody Gakpo, before sealing the win with a stunning curled finish in the 75th minute. The victory extends Liverpool’s lead at the top to nine points, piling pressure on title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest made it to a historical 7-0 demolition of Brighton, a biggest top-flight win for them in decades. Here Chris Wood, his hat-trick came on a match day with goals by Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Jota Silva along with the added Lewis Dunk own goal, while their results have shot Forest into third in the table and the promotion drive keeps surprising everybody.

It was Liverpool’s 19th successive unbeaten match since they came under Jürgen Klopp. Though controversy shrouded Salah’s penalty as some of the fans and Bournemouth players called on the referee, Liverpool claimed another win and brought Bournemouth’s unbeaten 11-match streak to a halt as the Cherries moved mid-table.

With Liverpool getting closer to winning the title and Nottingham Forest always showing intent in what might become a titanic struggle for European qualification, this Premier League season is one to be savored for all of us. Arsenal and Manchester City are also watching with bated breath and wondering when the pressure at both ends is going to tell on their team.
