Sharjah and Rome jointly celebrate 500,000 years of historical bond as their commitment to safeguarding cultural legacy is highlighted by the milestone celebration. The presence of dignitaries, historians, and leading figures in cultural circles at this event underlines the intense interrelationship between the UAE and Italy, especially in areas of archaeology, art, and heritage management.

Sharjah Book Authority Chairperson Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said protecting and promoting cultural legacies is key to leaving them for future generations. “History binds civilizations together, and it is our responsibility to safeguard these invaluable narratives,” she stated. The cooperation between Sharjah and Rome is not limited to academic circles; exhibitions, research, and heritage restoration projects also bring mutual understanding.

The three-day event featured some outstanding archaeological discoveries, with artifacts that superbly demonstrate the evolution of human civilization across both regions. Experts from both the UAE and Italy discussed how to enhance cultural diplomacy and expand knowledge exchange in archaeology, literature, and art.

With this celebration, Sharjah restates its global commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage, acting as a beaming light on heritage conservation. The more that Rome and Sharjah collaborate in strengthening their collaboration, the stronger history’s testimony to shaping today’s societies.
