Saudi Arabia Freezes Over: Polar Wave Grips Tabuk in Icy Embrace

The Tabuk region in Saudi Arabia is experiencing bone-chilling temperatures as a polar wave sweeps across the area, causing water to freeze and transforming the desert landscape into a winter wonderland. The icy conditions are part of the seasonal cold spells that frequently affect northern Saudi Arabia, bringing frigid temperatures and occasional snowfall.

Local residents and tourists alike have posted breathtaking photos of frozen water surfaces, frost-covered terrain, and ice roads, an experience rarely witnessed in a land known for the sweltering summer heat. The meteorologists have cautioned that temperatures may continue to drop and have called on the locals to prepare for the extreme chill.

Tabuk, near the Jordanian border, often experiences sub-zero temperatures during winters, and with polar winds from Siberia and Central Asia, the temperatures get intensified. Authorities have adviced people to stay indoors, bundle up, and prepare for possible travel disruptions because of icy roads as well as reduced visibility.

The northern regions of Saudi Arabia remain on high alert for extreme weather, but visitors are flocking to Tabuk to witness this rare desert freeze phenomenon in person. More cold fronts are expected in the coming days.
