UAE Workers Must Renew Unemployment Insurance for Two Years – Here’s How

admin
SHARE

The UAE’s unemployment insurance scheme now requires workers to renew their policy for two years to avoid coverage lapses and ensure continued financial security in case of job loss. The renewal applies to both private and public sector employees under the mandatory Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) scheme.
Workers can renew their insurance through the following multi-platforms; these include:

1.ILOE portal www.iloe.ae
2.Mobile apps ILOE, insurance provider apps
3.Kiosk machines and exchange centers

4.Banks, ATMs, and business centers

Payment Options & Fines
The renewal fee depends on the worker’s salary bracket, starting at Dh120 per year. If workers do not renew, they will be fined up to Dh400 as well as having their work permits and visas possibly restricted.

To avoid penalties, they should always check the renewal deadline and ensure payments are made before expiry. This update thus forms part of efforts by the UAE to further protect the rights of workers along with job market financial stability.
