The UAE will complete the installation of 500 new electric vehicle charging stations across the country by the end of 2025, as the country cements its position for sustainable mobility and clean energy. The plan, unveiled at the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai, was part of an ambitious move aimed at curbing carbon emissions while promoting eco-friendly transportation.

The officials also said that the renewable energy capacity of the UAE is expected to reach more than 14 gigawatts by 2030, making the country a global leader in green energy transition. Investments in solar, wind, and hydrogen projects are integral parts of the long-term vision for sustainability in the country.

The extension of the EV charging network is expected to increase access and make it easier to own electric vehicles, leading towards a zero-emission transport system. This move is seen to help the UAE meet the goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 and increase the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles further.

With a focus on innovation and environmental responsibility, the UAE continues to set benchmarks in renewable energy and smart infrastructure, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
