Students across Saudi schools are today kick-starting Founding Day celebrations with colourful activities as they commemorate the rich history of the kingdom. The festivities, to run for two weeks, aim at instilling national pride and awareness among young learners.

Pupils have also been engaged in cultural performances, historical reenactments, and art displays showcasing Saudi heritage. There have also been educational programs designed to highlight key milestones about the formation of this nation, helping to cultivate students’ appreciation for the country’s legacy and achievements.

Teachers and school administrators have taken to the celebrations, which incorporate lessons about Saudi Arabia’s historical leaders, traditions, and values into their curriculum. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to fostering a deep sense of patriotism in future generations.

The official Founding Day is on February 22, marking the date when the First Saudi State was established in 1727. Celebrations in schools are but a small part of the larger national celebrations with public events, exhibitions, and community activities scheduled for the occasion.
