Two astronauts who have been stuck on the International Space Station (ISS) for a longer period than planned are finally set to return to Earth sooner than anticipated. Their return mission will follow a handover period of several days to ensure a smooth transition for the new crew.

The astronauts’ mission was unexpectedly extended due to various technical and logistical issues, and they have been preparing for their journey back home by following detailed deorbiting and landing protocols. NASA and its partners have been closely monitoring conditions to guarantee a safe and successful reentry.

Their return is expected to yield important insights into long-duration space travel, as they have spent much more time aboard the ISS than originally intended. Scientists will conduct evaluations after the mission to study the effects of extended space exposure on their health and performance.

With their long-awaited return home approaching, the astronauts are excited to reunite with their families and share their stories from an unexpectedly prolonged stay beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
