In a significant step to boost the UAE’s ambitions in AI and advanced technology, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has restructured the nation’s Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council. The newly established council will be led by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a prominent figure in the UAE’s security and economic strategy.

This restructuring reflects the UAE’s dedication to becoming a global leader in AI, automation, and innovative technologies. With Sheikh Tahnoun in charge, the emphasis will be on improving AI governance, promoting technological advancements, and encouraging economic growth driven by innovation.

This initiative is part of the UAE’s wider digital transformation agenda, solidifying its role as a center for AI research, investment, and policy-making. The council is anticipated to develop national AI strategies, manage significant tech projects, and partner with international tech leaders to propel the country’s digital future.

Experts believe that this restructuring will create new opportunities in areas such as healthcare, cybersecurity, smart cities, and fintech, positioning the UAE as a leader in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
