Dubai Makes Arabic Mandatory in Private Schools

admin
SHARE

Dubai has introduced a new education policy, making learning Arabic language mandatory for all private school students up to six years old, including those in early childhood centers. The move is aimed at enhancing cultural identity and linguistic ability among young students in the emirate.

Private schools are obliged under this directive to incorporate Arabic studies into early years curricula so that native speakers are joined by non-native speakers in attaining a basic knowledge of the language. Educational authorities are of the opinion that early language exposure to Arabic will further linguistic skills and create a better sense of regional heritage.

Schools are expected to implement structured Arabic programs, tailored for beginners, while ensuring an engaging and interactive learning environment. The move aligns with Dubai’s broader vision of promoting bilingual proficiency and enhancing inclusivity across its diverse student population.
