The first crescent moon of Ramadan was sighted in the UAE, validating that Saturday, March 1, will be the first day of the holy month. Muslims throughout the nation will start their fasting, prayers, and spiritual observances, embracing a period of reflection, generosity, and devotion.

The UAE’s moon-sighting committee formally declared the beginning of Ramadan 2025 after verifying the new moon’s visibility. The Islamic month of fasting begins according to Islamic tradition with the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and a time of spiritual renewal.

During Ramadan, Muslims throughout the UAE will undergo fasting between sunrise and sunset, perform prayers (Taraweeh), and do acts of charity. The administration has also modified working hours for the public as well as private sector, paving the way for a balanced work routine for employees during the holy month.

With the onset of Ramadan, UAE leaders have sent their warmest regards to the nation and the international Muslim community, inviting compassion, harmony, and generosity. As the preparations get underway, the nation is going to welcome a month of spirituality, introspection, and solidarity.
