Egypt Reveals $53 Billion Gaza Rebuild Plan, Rejects Trump’s Proposal

Egypt has come up with a $53 billion Gaza reconstruction plan, emerging as one of the dominant forces in post-war recovery in the region. The preliminary proposal, which emerged ahead of critical diplomatic negotiations, is perceived to be a point-by-point response to alleged former U.S. President Donald Trump’s reported plan to resettle Gazans and take control of the territory.

As per authorities, Egypt’s plan centers on restoring infrastructure, revitalizing the Palestinian economy, and achieving long-term stability for the residents. The project comprises housing development projects, health facilities, schools, and economic development projects to assist Gaza in becoming self-sufficient.

Cairo’s decision is coming against a backdrop of increasing worry about foreign meddling in the future of Gaza. Egyptian officials are approaching regional partners and international donors to secure political and financial support for the plan, which prioritizes Palestinian sovereignty and local control.

The plan is set to be debated at the next Arab Summit, where Egypt is seeking to mobilize opposition to attempts to forcibly reshape Gaza’s demographic and political landscape. Whether the plan takes off internationally is yet to be seen, but it reflects Egypt’s firm stance against displacement and foreign control.
