Dubai has approved ambitious urban initiatives, including a 20-minute city plan, aimed at enhancing livability and connectivity for residents. The strategy, which is part of Dubai’s broader 2040 Urban Master Plan, seeks to ensure that key services, workplaces, and recreational hubs are within a 20-minute commute using walking, cycling, or public transport.
The government has also greenlit Dh55 billion worth of real estate and infrastructure projects, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a global smart city. The initiative includes 50 master plans, covering housing, commercial hubs, public parks, and transit systems, designed to accommodate the city’s growing population and sustainable development goals.
Officials highlighted that the 20-minute city will integrate AI-driven transport solutions, smart traffic management, and green mobility, ensuring a seamless and eco-friendly urban experience. The project aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in urban innovation and smart city planning.
