Dubai authorities have burned five tonnes of narcotics and psychotropic substances, a landmark operation in the city’s continuous fight against illegal drugs. The seized drugs were connected to 287 criminal cases, highlighting the magnitude of efforts by law enforcement to suppress crimes related to narcotics.

The Dubai Police stressed that its anti-narcotics approach is twofold and includes enforcement as well as prevention, employing the latest surveillance and intelligence techniques to break up the trafficking networks. Authorities also laid stress on having public information campaigns for preventing drug addiction and safeguarding society.

This latest destruction of illegal substances sends a strong message to traffickers and underscores Dubai’s zero-tolerance approach to drug-related crimes. Authorities continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activity and contribute to the fight against narcotics.
