In an attempt to make worshippers’ life easier, Saudi Arabia unveiled a smart luggage storage facility in the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Through the new innovation, pilgrims and visitors will be able to secure their belongings during prayers and other religious rituals.

The high-tech lockers are provided with intelligent technology, making the storage safe and efficient. The worshippers are able to access the service via a computer system, eliminating the traffic jam and making their experience at Islam’s sacred place better.

This project is one of Saudi Arabia’s wider Vision 2030 reforms, to enhance pilgrim services and develop greater use of smart technologies in religious places. Officials say the service will assist in preventing congestion and facilitating more smooth movement within the Grand Mosque.

With millions of tourists predicted all year round, the smart storage facility will change convenience for devotees by providing a safe and convenient solution for taking care of their items.
