Kuwait Mandates Payment of Salaries on 7th of Every Month

In a major step towards improving labour rights and workers’ welfare, Kuwait has made it compulsory for all firms to pay workers’ salaries by the 7th of every month. The move is intended to provide timely payments and avoid delays that might economically burden workers.

The government has also implemented strict labour housing regulations, which do not allow businesses to utilize such facilities for non-residential use. This is intended to enhance living standards for workers and avoid overcrowding or misuse of allocated housing areas.

Authorities have issued the warning that businesses not adhering to these regulations will be hit with harsh penalties, such as fines, lawsuits, and possible revocation of business licenses. Labour inspections will be carried out periodically to make sure enforcement is done and to safeguard labour rights.

These reforms demonstrate Kuwait’s commitment to fair employment practices and labour welfare, strengthening the nation’s labour laws and housing standards to establish a more structured and equitable working environment.
