UAE Schools Crack Down: Vaping Sensors Installed Amid GEMS Zero-Tolerance Drive

In a decisive move to combat rising vaping incidents, several UAE schools under the GEMS Education network are installing advanced vaping sensors as part of a broader zero-tolerance campaign. The initiative aims to foster safer learning environments and deter students from engaging in harmful habits.

School officials revealed that any student caught vaping or possessing vaping devices will face strict disciplinary measures, which could include suspension or expulsion. The new high-tech sensors will be strategically placed in restrooms and other high-risk areas, capable of detecting vape emissions in real-time.

The campaign follows increasing alarm at the health dangers of vaping among young people, with educators and authorities joined in action to stem the trend. GEMS Education stressed that awareness programs among students and parents are part of its strategy as well, with a focus on educating the community on the risks associated with e-cigarettes.

Parents have largely welcomed the initiative, viewing it as a proactive step toward safeguarding students’ well-being. As schools across the UAE adopt similar measures, the message is clear: there will be zero tolerance for vaping on school premises moving forward.
