A large fire occurred at an industrial area scrap yard in Sharjah, triggering a quick response from Sharjah Civil Defence personnel. The fire, which released huge clouds of black smoke into the air, was extinguished without any injuries or fatalities.
Witnesses reported that the fire broke out in the early afternoon, spreading rapidly across stacks of scrap material. Fire brigades from adjoining stations were rushed to the site to stabilize the flames and stop the fire from spreading to nearby warehouses and factories.
The authorities confirmed that the situation was promptly stabilized, with cooling operations being carried out to prevent any embers from igniting. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.
The Sharjah Civil Defence renewed its appeal to industries working in industrial areas to stick to fire protection rules and adopt good storage measures to reduce the risks.
