The UAE has published its official 2025 public holiday calendar, allowing residents and businesses to prepare for the year’s highly awaited breaks. The public and private sectors will have the same holiday schedule as part of continued efforts to harmonize the rest periods of the workforce.

The year will begin with a holiday for New Year’s Day on January 1. Citizens can also look forward to a string of major religious holidays, such as Eid Al Fitr, which is forecasted to occur on March 31, pending moon sighting. Eid Al Adha and Arafat Day will be celebrated around early June, giving a long weekend to many.

Other significant dates are Islamic New Year, Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and Commemoration Day. National Day celebrations will once again mark the end of the year with a break in early December.

The UAE government has reiterated that the unified holiday calendar is designed to provide better work-life balance, enhance productivity, and allow families sufficient time to spend on cultural and religious celebrations.
