Jannik Sinner Denounces ‘Unfair’ Doping Ban on Eve of Rome Open Return

Italian tennis sensation Jannik Sinner has finally spoken out regarding the doping ban that kept him off the court, terming it “unfair” as he prepares for a highly anticipated return to top-level tennis. The 22-year-old, who boasts an explosive game and a growing international reputation, will return to action at the Rome Open, with his ban being lifted on May 4.

Speaking candidly about the suspension, Sinner maintained his innocence, insisting the incident stemmed from a “misunderstanding and procedural failure” rather than intentional wrongdoing. “It was a shock and a huge setback. I’ve always been clean, and to be painted otherwise was deeply painful,” he said.

Despite his frustration, Sinner used the forced break to focus on physical conditioning and mental resilience. “I didn’t let it break me. If anything, I’m hungrier and more prepared than ever,” he added, with a firm eye on reclaiming his top-tier status.

With his comeback falling on the same time as his home tournament on the red clay of Rome, supporters are looking forward to a dominant return. Everyone’s eyes will be on Sinner as he aims to shut down doubters and rekindle his career — where it all started.
