Dubai Police have stepped up efforts to promote road safety through the use of advanced AI-driven radar systems that can identify numerous traffic offenses such as tailgating, speeding, lane breaches, and using mobile phones during driving.

Tailgating Rules and Fines:

Safe Following Gap: Keep a gap of at least two seconds between your car and the preceding vehicle to provide sufficient reaction time and avoid rear-end crashes.

Penalties for Tailgating: Offenders who are caught tailgating are penalized with a fine of AED 400 and acquire four black points on their license.

Working of AI-Based Radars:

Detection Capabilities: AI-based radars have the ability to detect several traffic offenses in real time using smart sensors and machine learning algorithms, such as tailgating, speeding, discipline of lanes, and the use of mobile phones while driving.

Operational Transparency: The AI system automatically records transgressions, and violators are notified through SMS or email with the detail of the infringement, penalty, and black points.

Additional Traffic Offences Tracked:

Speeding: Penalties include AED 300 for speed over the limit by 20 km/h and AED 3,000 for speed over the limit by 80 km/h, as well as impoundment and black points.

Lane Violations: Speeding or failure to maintain lane discipline results in fines and black points.

Mobile Phone Use: Mobile phone usage while driving attracts a fine and black points.

Drivers’ Recommendations:

Stay Informed: Read and get acquainted with Dubai’s traffic laws and regulations regularly to stay compliant.

Use Caution: Drive with a safe following distance, observe speed limits, and minimize distractions.

Keep an Eye on Communications: Keep an eye out for any communication from Dubai Police for traffic offenses to settle any problems immediately.

By following these tips and abiding by traffic rules, motorists can make the roads safer and avert fines for traffic offenses.
