Saudi Arabia is experiencing a huge growth in its delivery business, with 290 million delivery orders recently registered in the Kingdom. The growth indicates shifting consumer behavior, increased digital adoption, and high demand for convenience-based services.
Riyadh was at the forefront with a staggering 45% increase in delivery orders, attesting to the capital’s changing lifestyle and urban growth. The tech-aware populace and growing e-commerce industry in the city have turned it into a focal point for delivery platforms and logistics disruption.
Mecca came in close second, also recording a major increase in demand for deliveries. The rise is both due to local population increases and the consistent return of pilgrims and tourists, who are fueling increased consumption levels.
The surge represents a favorable trend for the digital economy of Saudi Arabia, which aims to diversify the economy as per Vision 2030 and adopt smart solutions. Food delivery and logistics startups can further thrive with the Kingdom extending its digital wave.
