Well-known Indian YouTuber and creator Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, has been officially chargesheeted in an obscenity case by the cyber police, ending months of investigation. The case relates to allegedly objectionable content that had caused public outrage and attracted legal attention.
The row started when some excerpts from Allahbadia’s podcast became viral, facing criticism for encouraging obscene and indecent talks. Following some complaints, the cyber police launched an official investigation, examining content on the grounds of Sections 292 and 294 of the Indian Penal Code, which cover obscene acts and songs.
Researchers determined that the content in question broke public decency laws and potentially had a negative effect on impressionable viewers, particularly with the creator’s huge youth fanbase. Authorities used “repeated, deliberate use of sexually suggestive language” as a reason for taking action.
Allahbadia, who has more than 5 million subscribers, has yet to issue a detailed statement but had earlier said the content was taken out of context. As legal proceedings continue, this case is likely to spark broader debates over digital censorship, free speech, and content responsibility in India.
