New Dubai Bridge Reduces Travel Time between Jumeirah and Al Mina

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officially inaugurated a massive new bridge recently that is all set to halve travel times between Jumeirah Street and Al Mina Street. Drivers can now make the trip in only four minutes, compared to longer trips in the past.

The new bridge is part of the ambitious Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project, one of the biggest infrastructure developments in Dubai that seeks to increase road efficiency and safety. The bridge is 2.3 kilometres long with four lanes in each direction, with a capacity to carry up to 19,400 vehicles per hour.

RTA officials emphasized that the new route not only relieves traffic congestion but also increases connectivity between major residential, commercial, and tourist locations along the city coast. The smoother traffic flow should profit regular commuters, logistics services, and emergency response teams.

With this new addition, Dubai maintains its pace in becoming a wiser, more mobile city. The RTA also has further improvements along the corridor planned out, as per the emirate’s 2040 Urban Master Plan.
