As part of its push towards making the city more inclusive, Abu Dhabi has opened the UAE’s first visually impaired beach for visually impaired people. The special beach has free entry and is accessible to visitors every day of the week until midnight.
The beach is provided with specialized facilities, such as tactile guidance routes, audio signs, and staff trained to support visitors in safely and comfortably navigating the environment. The project is intended to provide equal access to leisure and recreational activities for people of determination.
Developed in collaboration with accessibility experts and disability advocacy groups, the beach highlights Abu Dhabi’s commitment to making the capital more inclusive and accessible for all residents and tourists.
Officials hope this beach sets a precedent for future projects across the country, emphasizing the importance of inclusive infrastructure in shaping a society that celebrates diversity and prioritizes equal opportunities.
