The Kingdom of Bahrain officially declared a public holiday on May 1 in commemoration of Labour Day. All government departments, ministries, and public institutions throughout the country will be shut down as the nation celebrates the efforts and achievements of its workforce.

Labour Day, commemorated across the world, acknowledges the significant contribution of workers towards economic growth and national development. Bahrain’s celebration of the day is an indication of its dedication to supporting workers’ rights, well-being, and the value of a harmonious work-life culture.

Private sector companies also have been urged to participate, with most of them closing shop or working a half-day. Residents can enjoy a day off, community festivals, and homecoming gatherings in line with the spirit of appreciation and unity in recognizing hard workers.

As Bahrain pursues its journey of progress and innovation, Labour Day continues to be a time to renew national unity and commemorate the tireless works of all workers toward a bright future for the Kingdom.
