Residents of Dubai can now obtain their driving licences within two hours, courtesy of a new express service introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The move is intended to offer quicker, more convenient licensing services, eliminating residents from having to wait for long periods and face unnecessary delays.
Under this new initiative, applicants can opt for various delivery options depending on their location and urgency. The 2-hour delivery in Dubai is priced at AED 50, same-day delivery in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other emirates at AED 35, and standard delivery throughout the UAE at AED 20. International delivery is priced at AED 50.
The RTA has made this service encompass diverse licensing requirements such as renewals, replacement for lost licences, and even the international driving permits. The customer can apply from the RTA website, mobile application, or at customer delight centres and specify the mode of delivery during application.
This is a part of RTA’s wider digital transformation and customer happiness plan, which positions Dubai as one of the most efficient cities in the world to deliver government services. The two-hour licence delivery further reinforces the emirate’s reputation for adopting smart, citizen-centric services.
